  • What if I only want to use one deck?
Great idea! If you choose to use only the Red Deck, you can kick off your session by getting everyone’s opinions and sparking lively discussions. This is a perfect way to gauge where your group stands on a topic before diving into your sermon or Bible study. On the other hand, if you opt to use just the Blue Deck, you can lead your group through a focused expository Bible study. The Blue Deck questions will guide your group in digging deep into the passage, uncovering biblical insights, and fostering a rich understanding of the text. Whether you choose to use just one deck or mix things up, the key is to create a session that resonates with your group and fits your goals.
  • The topics seem to be in the form of statements. Do the topics we create always need to be statements?
Yes, when using the Red Deck, your topic should be an absolute statement. The Red Deck’s questions require participants to take a stance or rate their agreement with the statement. Example Red Deck Questions: Do you agree/disagree? Why? On a scale of 1-10, how much do you relate to this? Why? For example, if you want to explore media addiction, you might use a topic statement like: "A Netflix addiction is a sin." This format encourages deeper discussion as participants respond to a clear, pointed statement. Here are some templates to help create your topic statements: (topic)_ impacts my relationship with God. God wants me to (related to topic). (topic) is enough. (topic) should always be prioritized. It’s impossible to ____ (related to topic) without God’s help. (topic) is a direct reflection of our faith.
  • What’s the recommended number of players for this game?
There’s no strict limit—it really depends on how you want to run the session! 2-4 players: You can keep it intimate with deeper, more personal discussions where everyone gets ample time to share. You can use more cards, and each person can take more than one card from each deck. 5-10 player: You might want to pair people up for each question card. Not everyone has to share their response with the entire group—they can just share with each other. 10 or more players: Consider breaking into smaller groups to ensure everyone stays engaged and has the opportunity to contribute. You can be the one to assign questions. Afterward, you can bring everyone back together to share key takeaways from each group. The game is super flexible, so you can tailor it to fit your group size perfectly!
  • Some questions don’t fit the topic statement or passage I chose. What should I do?
Easy—just take those cards out! It’s super important to go through all the cards before each session to make sure they align with your topic. This way, you can also prep how to add value after your group responds. Remember, this deck isn’t a one-size-fits-all, so feel free to personalize and customize it to suit your group’s needs.
  • What are facilitation guides? Do I need to use them?
Facilitation guides are step-by-step instructions with tips and Word-based content to help you run a session smoothly. We recommend new facilitators to use them first to get a feel for how the game works. They’re also great for newer leaders and shepherds as a support tool when starting your discipleship journey. We’ve also created Google Docs templates for you to customize your own facilitation guides, along with more pre-made guides you can use if you like. Since topics may vary based on your group's needs, feel free to create your own guides to best suit your sessions. View facilitation guides here!
